We all have friends who don't read for fun. Some of us even have friends who say they hate to read. Not meaning to sound rude, but I pity people who hate to read. I feel like they are really missing out. There can be some struggles to having friends who don't read.
When you tell them that silently reading in the same room is a great way to hang out.
They don't get it when you get really excited about a book, so its not like you can have a great conversation about it.
When you want to stay home and finish a book they think your lame.
They will tease you about what a homebody you are.
They don't understand your attachment to fictional characters.
When a book you have been waiting for comes out, they don't understand your excitement.
You have to try to keep your mouth shut when they say they will just wait for the movie to come out instead of reading the book.
You can recommend books all day long, but you know they will never read it.
They don't understand the excitement of getting a book as a gift.
Your book references will go over their heads.
