Anomaly By Krista Mcgee

This is the first book in the Anomaly series. This book place in the future after earth has been destroyed by nuclear war. The survivors live in space. People live in groups called Pods. There are ten scientist who have survived and believe that they know what went wrong with civilization. It was emotions. They have since removed this from the citizens that they have created.

Thalli has managed to keep it a secret that she has emotions. If it
was revealed the scientist would see her as a threat not only to her pod but all of the citizens in The State. They are already know that she is different. She asks questions and feels things. Neither of those are tolerated.

When Thalli  receives an ancient piece of music to record as her community assignment, she is no longer able to hide her secret. She is then seen as a threat to her pod and taken away to the Scientists for immediate eradication. Before that can happen her former pod mate Berk, who is now being trained as a scientist, persuades them to keep Thalli as a test subject.

The more time Thalli spends in the pod with the Scientist, the more she discovers that things are not quite as simple as she was taught to believe. She begins to hear stories of a Designer and has more questions than ever.

I tried to imagine living in this kind of world. Not having any emotions and if for some reason you do have emotions you will be killed! I loved that there is so much to the story. The ending really had me wanting more! And really that's what we want in a great book. You want it to keep your attention and being excited for more.
